Coach Gonzalez is a dedicated softball coach with a passion for mentoring young athletes both on and off the field. While the upcoming school year marks his first as Head Softball Coach at Schurr, Coach Gonzalez has been a part of the school's coaching staff in the past years, serving as an assistant in 2021 and 2022.

Throughout his coaching career, Coach Gonzalez has achieved significant success, winning three League Championships at different schools, including South Hills, Chino Hills, and Schurr. His coaching has also led to the development of numerous talented players who have gone on to compete at the collegiate level, with over 50 athletes advancing to collegiate softball programs and 25 earning spots at Division 1 schools. Additionally, Coach Gonzalez has seen some of his former players reach the professional level, a testament to his ability to nurture and develop talent.

Reflecting on standout moments in his coaching career, Coach Gonzalez recalls the first time he made the playoffs at Baldwin Park in 2007, overcoming challenges to secure a spot in the postseason. Another memorable achievement was in 2011 when his team reached the CIF Finals while he was at South Hills, showcasing their talent and determination on a big stage.

Coach Gonzalez acknowledges the important individuals who have supported and influenced his coaching journey, including his first Athletic Director at Baldwin Park, Nancy Aandahl, who played a pivotal role in his coaching career by providing him with his first coaching opportunity. He also credits his parents for their unwavering support throughout his coaching endeavors.

Outside of coaching, Coach Gonzalez enjoys playing golf, watching sports, and spending time with family and friends.
